Our History and Development
Rapide Chartering was founded in 1995 and began with shipping. Over the years, we have expanded into Rapide Chartering, HTB-Intermodaal, Rapide Projects, Rialto Chartering, and ACCT Beunschepen.
Dik Hovestadt, coming from a family of skippers, and Cora Hovestadt, who has been involved since 1999, have grown the company together with our team of thirteen employees. We are fully committed to providing our customers with the best service.
Since 2019, following the acquisition of HTB-Intermodaal B.V., we have been handling large volumes of freight via European inland waterways. With the integration of Rialto Chartering in 2022, we have further increased our expertise and capabilities.
Rapide Chartering is a versatile platform for water transport, dredging, sand extraction, and sand trade.

What We Do
Rapide Chartering offers complete services, from organizing pre- and post-transport to the loading, sailing, and unloading of vessels. Thanks to our broad fleet and our network of certified skippers, we are able to transport a wide range of cargoes, varying from raw materials and construction materials to complex or high-risk goods. We comply with all required certifications, so customers are assured of quality and safety at every stage of transport.
Because we manage the entire process in-house, we maintain control and can respond quickly. Behind Rapide Chartering stands a team driven by experience, knowledge, and personal commitment. Leadership is in the hands of Dik Hovestadt, who comes from a family of skippers, and Cora Hovestadt, who has been an indispensable link in the organization since 1999. Together with a team of charterers, an assistant, and administrative staff, they form the heart of an organization that is fully at the service of the customer. The team combines the strength of tradition with the energy of innovation, making Rapide a company with a unique identity.
